Why get involved with the Clintons when there are much better choices to be considered? Shouldn't the new president-elect be forming his own team of Obama loyalists?
Obama's choice of Clinton for Secretary of State over someone with more foreign policy experience is a clear signal that the Commander-in-Chief intends to command, indeed.
We have had a virtual news blackout on what is going on in the two states we're waiting for -- Missouri's presidential results, and Alaska's senatorial results. Here is what I managed to find out.
Sen. Clinton is obviously qualified and I think America would love to see a new government that wasn't simply made-up of cronies but of people with differing viewpoints who come together for the good of the country.
How do I Thank Thee, Sarah Palin? Let me count the ways... (With profound apologies to Elizabeth Barrett Browning)
Here is a collection of my posts and videos from this historic week: Obama Wins: Why All Americans Have a Reason to Celebrate Watch: Election Night Reactions: Arianna Talks With Norman Lear, Laurie David, Marty Kaplan And Madelaine Lear Tuesday's Second Biggest Winner: Democracy The Winners and Losers of Campaign '08 Watch: Arianna on BBC Newsnight Discussing Obama's Win I'm Ready to Declare a Winner in the 2008 Race: the Internet
Obama's heart is one of fairness, justice and understanding. That he must surround himself with high profile and controversial pro-Israel champions is not a real concern.
Winners: The Davids - Axelrod and Plouffe: they spearheaded a near flawless campaign. Katie Couric: her multi-part interview with Sarah Palin was the turning point in how the country saw Palin -- and by extension John McCain. And she did it in a way that left no room for accusations of being unfair or playing "Gotcha!" Michelle Obama: smarts, grace, style, charm, and a serious "good mommy" vibe -- she's got the whole package. Losers: Joe Lieberman: failed to deliver Democrats, independents, or Jews. And on the way to losing his committee chairmanships. Liddy Dole: her "Godless" ad will be taught in What Not To Do poli sci classes for a century. Joe the Plumber: the clock just hit 15 minutes, and the wakeup call will not be pleasant.
The Democrats are expected to increase their lead in the Senate in November, but their Holy Grail is the 60 votes needed to stop future Republican filibusters.
Known in DC as a pro-Israel hardliner, he joins Pelosi in bringing to the Middle East peace process a record of support for Tel Aviv's targeted assassinations of Palestinian political leaders.
Unmarried women's crucial role in electing Obama is underscored by the "marriage gap" between their political preferences and those of married women.
On both values and issues, moderates line up with liberals to form a strong majority that isolates conservatives. Conservatives have had their day. This is a center-left, not a center-right nation.

Eastern Afghanistan--In the early hours of the morning, an Army Captain watched as the election results were being reported. He shook his head in disgust. "This is proof that the media can elect a President."
After watching the debate, I am convinced that if the country somehow has a collective mental meltdown and elects Sarah Palin, she will be even more dangerous than Cheney.

I'd be disappointed if he picked a bunch of politicians for his cabinet. There is so much more talented people out there-vivacious, bright, creative, honest people with diverse backgrounds. I went to BYU and I could pick a team from the Provo/Orem/ area alone(centrists and liberals to non ideologues) that would blow any team full of washington politicians away. And Obama has the entire nation/world to choose from. The cabinet team needs vivacious talent and chemistry.
How about Patrick Fitzgerald as either AG or FBI director???
Bill White, the Mayor of Houston, has to be on Obama's short list for Energy. He was the number two during the Clinton years.
How about RFK jr. for EPA
I love Wesley Clarke as Sec Def. He would be awesome. What about Al Gore as EPA Sec. I think he could really do some great work with that agency. I think Bill Richardson would be better back in the Energy Sec. spot. not state. State should be Colin Powell. I doubt he will do it but I think in the Obama administration he would really shine.
Why isn't Corzine on the list for Treasury Sec.?
He's currently Gov. of NJ, which has been a bit of a struggle because of the legislature's reluctance to adopt his unpopular, yet creative and necessary, measures needed to balance the budget.
He's also the former CEO of Goldman, in it's pre-crazy leveraging days.
