Why get involved with the Clintons when there are much better choices to be considered? Shouldn't the new president-elect be forming his own team of Obama loyalists?
Robert L. Borosage, 11.11.2008
On both values and issues, moderates line up with liberals to form a strong majority that isolates conservatives. Conservatives have had their day. This is a center-left, not a center-right nation.
Mark Nickolas, 11.14.2008
Sen. Clinton is obviously qualified and I think America would love to see a new government that wasn't simply made-up of cronies but of people with differing viewpoints who come together for the good of the country.

Unmarried women's crucial role in electing Obama is underscored by the "marriage gap" between their political preferences and those of married women.
Paul Raushenbush, 11.12.2008
The question remains how aspiring political figures will respond to the pastor problem of election 08 -- the bar has been raised. It is not enough to attend a place of worship -- you have to vet it.
Jeff Gates, 11.11.2008
Known in DC as a pro-Israel hardliner, he joins Pelosi in bringing to the Middle East peace process a record of support for Tel Aviv's targeted assassinations of Palestinian political leaders.

We have had a virtual news blackout on what is going on in the two states we're waiting for -- Missouri's presidential results, and Alaska's senatorial results. Here is what I managed to find out.
Chip Collis, 11.17.2008
Obama's choice of Clinton for Secretary of State over someone with more foreign policy experience is a clear signal that the Commander-in-Chief intends to command, indeed.
Sean Jacobs, 11.11.2008
Though Europeans generally rejoiced in Barack Obama's election as 44th President of the US, a number of leading European lawmakers and journalists have made "foot-in-mouth comments."
Cecile Richards, 11.13.2008
In a poll commissioned by Planned Parenthood, Catholic voters' number-one response on family planning concerns were "too many unwanted children in America whose parents can't take care of them."

How do I Thank Thee, Sarah Palin? Let me count the ways...
(With profound apologies to Elizabeth Barrett Browning)
Marcia DeSanctis, 11.10.2008
Rather than preach, build or spread democracy, we proved that our system works. By winning, Obama did more to teach the Iraqis about democracy than four years of nation building has done.
Matthew Filipowicz, 11.13.2008
After Obama's visit with Bush, it only makes sense that Biden would a visit with Cheney. I've heard they're already setting up a meeting with Barney and the Obama's puppy-to-be.
Alan Dershowitz, 11.11.2008
In selecting his team, Obama should look to future opportunities -- to how he can help solve the critical problems of the nation and the world -- and not to past obligations.
Scott Kesterson, 11.11.2008
Some soldiers' opinions I recently wrote about are theirs to have, even though they may be highly unpopular. Being unpopular does not, however, make their opinion any less valid nor criminal.

guys come on, the reason that he didnt resign is because he needs the money( Joe is quite broke for a senator)
Maybe Biden is waiting till a successor is ready before resigning,
so that the Democrats maintain their
majority in the senate till the new congress comes in.
Ah, Change. No politicians seeking to keep the senate seat in the family. Just looking out for the American people in his district.
What a catch. You democrats should be proud.
I don't like dynasties. America and the world would be so much better off if we had not had the Bush dynasty. I hope that isn't what Biden has in mind but if his son is already elected as Attorney General (wasn't that it?), he has done alright for himself and has a good start. With him gone off to war, it isn't feasible for him to get appointed to fill his father's Senate seat.
Again. All this talk about 60 senate seats is predicated on Biden's seat passing on to a Democrat. Even getting all of the close but still undecided seats wouldn't put the Democrats up to 60 if Biden's seat goes to a Republican.
The whole 'inherited office' thing is a really bad idea. It's what the founders of the USA came here to get away from, and if that's what Biden has in mind, it's the least becoming thing about him.
