We are eager to work with the new administration. With that being said, we also stand ready to act to hold the new administration accountable if it fails to enforce laws protecting the environment.

"People who say the U.S. doesn't innovate are woefully out of touch with Detroit's standing in this business."
Andy Borowitz, 11.13.2008
Confounding the conventional wisdom that he is a lame duck president with no agenda as his days in office dwindle, President Bush is redoubling his efforts to mutilate the country before his term expires.
Steven Weber, 11.15.2008
Has anything BushCo's ever done benefitted the people or the country? Just admit it: we've been robbed, beaten and stabbed. Those are just the facts, Detective Obama.
Shirin Sadeghi, 11.12.2008
As the W. Bush regime comes to an end it seems appropriate to pay tribute to the countless individuals and groups who have spent the last nearly 8 years exposing this government.
Steve Young, 11.14.2008
While some see this as an affront to the very people who elected Obama for a promised change, Obama Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel believes this is exactly what their supporters would want.
David Sirota, 11.14.2008
Obama will not support linking the Colombia Free Trade Agreement to economic stimulus. That's good policy and good politics. It will also prevent Bush's last-ditch effort to fracture the Democratic Party.

Regrets, I've had a few; The "Mission Accomplished" banner was certainly loony. Not every dream came true, I don't wake up with Carla Bruni.
Markus Ziener, 11.13.2008
Bush's presidency may someday be seen in a milder light, because in the last two years of his administration, he was able to pull off an inconspicuous, but in many ways fundamental, change of course.
Tom Gilroy, 11.11.2008
However badly we'd love to flush the karmic toilet, how likely it is the forces that gave us Enron, Jack Abramoff, economic collapse and Blackwater has been humbled into changing their venal ways? Not a chance.
Gail Vida Hamburg, 11.14.2008
When I read the headlines, "Bush Recalls Moments of Regret," Bush Speaks of Regret," I broke open the chips and hummus to read his Apologia. This will be good, I thought.
Arianna Huffington, 11.06.2008
Winners: The Davids - Axelrod and Plouffe: they spearheaded a near flawless campaign. Katie Couric: her multi-part interview with Sarah Palin was the turning point in how the country saw Palin -- and by extension John McCain. And she did it in a way that left no room for accusations of being unfair or playing "Gotcha!" Michelle Obama: smarts, grace, style, charm, and a serious "good mommy" vibe -- she's got the whole package. Losers: Joe Lieberman: failed to deliver Democrats, independents, or Jews. And on the way to losing his committee chairmanships. Liddy Dole: her "Godless" ad will be taught in What Not To Do poli sci classes for a century. Joe the Plumber: the clock just hit 15 minutes, and the wakeup call will not be pleasant.
Joanne Bamberger, 11.13.2008
Palin has taken charge of this moment that is unlikely to come again and she's making the most the notoriety that was offered her. I have to say, if I were in her shoes, I'd do the same thing.
Jane Devin, 10.27.2008
Under the thumb of right-wing religion, the Republican party became a bloated fool, stuffed with hypocrisy, greed, and anti-intellectualism. The price is now being paid through lost elections and a loss of public trust.
James Rotondi, 11.11.2008

exercised
ok, I'm exercised
I will never stop asking this question until someone gives me a legitimate answer. WHY WASN'T BUSH IMPEACHED?! What does the man have to do? How many more ways can this man prove to this country that he does not have the country, nor its citizens best interest at heart? What else does he need to do? I'm waiting for answer.
Bush must be fought on this one. He is trying to finish off the country before he leaves office.
I am a medical professional, and I gave anesthesia for abortions. At times, I was one of only two in a very large department which would do them. Some people did not have a problem with doing them, but were harassed and given trouble for doing them, so they just stopped. I stood up before the whole darned department and told them that, first of all, I intended to do them and that I would not hesitate to take legal action against anyone on any level who harassed me or retaliated against me because of it, and that I kept a journal with the whos and whys in it, and a recorder in my pocket and would not hesitate to record them if they started with the carp, and secondly, the law protected me in this and I would not hesitate to take them to court on civil rights violations as well.
Bush would gut this.
Thank you.
Thank you for taking such a strong personal stand for women's rights.
